The week that was…

butcherstrolley
This trolley will be featuring on the blog this week, I am so pleased with how it turned out. This paint job has transformed a standard Ikea butcher’s trolley into something pretty and very welcome in my flat.  It’s also serving to be a great place to unpack some of my china and cake stands that have been looking for a home.

My favourite moment…

Sunday morning, Phil and I packed a picnic basket and headed over to the Weald and Downland museum near Chichester. This is somewhere both of us remembering visiting as kids and since school trips, I have always enjoyed going to their special event days.  It was the Vintage and Steam fair this weekend, so the fields were packed with traction engines, steam rollers and steam lorries as well as beautiful vintage caravans and hoards of other interesting vehicles. There was also a gorgeous steam carousel – of course we couldn’t miss our opportunity for a ride.  Phil is going away with work for a chunk of time shortly and this was his last weekend at home for the next four months. So I’m really pleased we made the most of it!

This week sounded like…

I’ve been hearing this track everywhere recently. We went out of Saturday night and I swear it was on repeat! It’s so catchy and a good track to dance around the house to.

This week tasted like…

Salted Caramel – I made a fresh batch and filled a Kilner jar up. It came in very handy for the Salted Caramel Spiced Apple cake that I baked on Wednesday…the cake didn’t last long at the office!

This week I spotted…
hmprod
This wooden board and glass dome is on my hitlist at the moment. It’s from the kitchen range at H & M and is just crying out to be home to a fresh batch of scones.

I learned all about…

Yoga. Well, I began to! I started a yoga course in Southsea with Donna at Portsmouth Yoga. I felt so relaxed after my first class and it was so much fun.

Next week will be…

Mostly away from home! I’m off to Bournemouth Air Festival from Wednesday to Friday with work, then heading straight to the airport for a weekend in Scotland.  I’ll be drowning in laundry this time next week!
